Braastad Engineering AS was founded in 2024 by
Ian Braastad, building on more than four decades of
experience within offshore engineering, FPSO design and operations,
marine systems, and major conversion projects. The company was
established to offer high-quality, independent consulting services to
clients requiring deep technical insight combined with practical
operational understanding.
Our background includes extensive involvement in early-phase field development, harsh-environment FPSO design, major life-extension projects, and execution support at international shipyards. We understand the challenges faced by owners and operators when balancing safety, uptime, cost, and technical integrity — and we provide engineering that supports sound decision-making throughout the full asset lifecycle.
